The origin
The name La Canterica
La Canterica takes its name from the street where it stands: Calle Canterica.
Long before the house existed, there was a small quarry here, where the stone used to build the village was once cut.
That is why the name is no accident. It is part of the story of this place.
Today, where stone was once worked, there is a house made for rest. A quiet retreat in Fuentes de Rubielos, surrounded by mountains, silence and corners waiting to be discovered.

Every corner of La Canterica has been prepared with care and an eye for detail, so your stay feels comfortable, simple and easy.
Natural light, wood and shared spaces create a warm atmosphere where it is easy to relax and leave the daily rhythm behind. A place to rest, enjoy a quiet conversation, share time with those around you and reconnect with what really matters.

Two apartments, one experience
La Canterica can be enjoyed in two ways: by booking one of our apartments, or by renting the whole house for groups and family gatherings.
El Jardín is perfect for those who love the outdoors. It has direct access to the garden, a wide, cool terrace for summer days and a barbecue area. An ideal spot for meals outside, long after-dinner talks and shared moments.
El Mirador offers a more intimate experience. Its raised terrace invites you to begin the day with an unhurried breakfast as you take in the landscape, or to end it with a sunset and a glass of wine. A space made for those seeking calm, privacy and beautiful views.

Where it is
A small village under an enormous sky
La Canterica sits in Fuentes de Rubielos, a small village of fewer than 150 inhabitants at almost a thousand metres above sea level, deep in the Sierra de Gúdar-Javalambre.
Here, silence is part of the landscape. No crowds, no rush — just quiet streets, nature and paths that lead to corners that hold the feel of another time.
Above the village stretches one of the cleanest skies in Europe. We are right in the heart of the Destino Starlight Gúdar-Javalambre, a privileged place to watch the stars and rediscover the night as it once was.
And it is this very sky that will bring us one of the most remarkable astronomical events of the coming decades: the total solar eclipse of 12 August 2026.
