What data do we process and for what purpose?
Through the website contact form we process the data that the user provides voluntarily:
- Data: name, email, telephone (optional) and the content of the message.
- Purpose: to handle the enquiries and requests for information or booking sent through the form, and to maintain the communication arising from them.
- No profiling is carried out with the data, nor is it used to make automated decisions.
Legal basis for processing
The legitimising basis is the consent of the data subject (art. 6.1.a GDPR), given by ticking the acceptance box and submitting the form. Likewise, when the enquiry is aimed at booking a stay, the processing is based on the application of pre-contractual measures at the request of the data subject (art. 6.1.b GDPR).
Data retention
The data will be retained for the time necessary to handle the enquiry and, subsequently, for the periods legally required. When it is no longer necessary, it will be securely deleted.
Recipients and data processors
For the operation of the contact form we use the service Formspree (Formspree, Inc., based in the USA), which acts as a data processor and processes the sending of the form messages.
This operation entails an international transfer of data to the USA (Formspree's servers are hosted on Amazon Web Services in the USA). According to the information published by the provider itself, Formspree acts as a data processor and covers such transfers under the Standard Contractual Clauses (SCC) approved by the European Commission, and maintains a data processing agreement (DPA) with its clients.
The website is hosted on the Cloudflare infrastructure (Cloudflare, Inc.), which acts as the hosting provider and may process technical connection data, such as the IP address, for the purpose of providing the hosting service and ensuring the security and availability of the site.
The Booking page integrates the booking engine of Gestión Turismo Rural (GTR), provider of the booking management platform used by La Canterica. The data the user provides when requesting a booking through this engine is managed by La Canterica within that platform, for the sole purpose of processing the booking and maintaining the communications related to it. This data is not used for any other purpose.
No data is disclosed to other third parties except by legal obligation.
Third-party services embedded in the site
The website incorporates third-party contents and services that may collect browsing data or install their own cookies:
- Google Maps (location map) — Google Ireland Ltd.
- Trustindex (Google and Booking.com reviews widget).
- Meta (links and icons to Instagram and Facebook).
- GTR booking engine (booking form embedded in the Booking page).
The use of these services is governed by the privacy policies of their respective providers. See the Cookie Policy section below.
User rights
The user may exercise the rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, restriction of processing and portability by writing to lacantericacasarural@gmail.com, indicating the right they wish to exercise and attaching a copy of an identifying document.
They also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) if they consider that the processing does not comply with current regulations.
Security
The controller adopts the technical and organisational measures necessary to ensure the security of personal data and to prevent its alteration, loss or unauthorised access.

Cookies are small files that a website stores in the user's browser. This website has been designed to minimise the use of cookies and does not install tracking or advertising cookies.
Cookies used by this site
- Own technical cookies: those strictly necessary for the operation of the site. They do not require consent under art. 22.2 LSSI.
- No own analytical or advertising cookies.
Third-party content
The site incorporates third-party services, some as embedded content and others as simple links to external profiles:
- Google Maps: the Contact page incorporates a Google Maps location map as embedded content, which loads when the page is opened. This may involve the installation of third-party cookies by Google and the collection of browsing data. Its use is governed by Google's privacy policy.
- Trustindex (reviews): the reviews widget is configured in its mode without tracking cookies.
- Instagram and Facebook: appear solely as links to La Canterica's profiles; they are not embedded content and do not install third-party cookies on this site.
Cookie management
The user may configure or block cookies from their browser settings. Since the site does not use tracking cookies, blocking them does not affect browsing.
